Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

An MOU is an agreement between the participating organization and HOPE worldwide outlining the collaboration and responsibilities of each organization. In summary, HOPE worldwide agrees to provide training and support while the participating organization agrees to cooperate with HOPE worldwide in following the federal guidelines and providing local support for the program.

Our Pledge to You

• Provide you with the HOPE worldwide Positive Choice Curriculum Manual and DVD;
• Train Peer Educators in implementation and delivery of the Positive Choice Program;
• Equip Peer Educators to train local youth groups to implement and deliver the Program;
• Train Peer Educators in recruitment and retention of participating youth;
• Provide oversight, and technical assistance throughout the project period;*
• Develop, distribute and utilize evaluation tools for effective evaluation and continuous quality improvement of the Program; *
• Provide national representation of the Program on behalf of your organization; and *
• Develop and distribute Program policies and procedures for continuous quality improvement of the Program.

Your Pledge to Us

• Cooperate with HOPE worldwide in the recruitment of local youth to be trained as Peer Educators;
• Provide support for Program activities based in your communities;
• Provide a safe operating environment for Program staff and participants, including securing appropriate meeting locations and ensuring adequate adult supervision for meetings;
• Keep HOPE worldwide informed of any changes in operational support and infrastructure;
• Comply with all confidentiality policies of the Program;
• Arrange for and secure venues (churches, community groups and schools) for Program activities;
• Provide audio-visual equipment for Program presentations;
• Administer the evaluation tool – the Pre- and Post-Tests and send tests to evaluator; andEnsure that the Program will not be used for sectarian instruction, worship, prayer or proselytization, according to federal guidelines
